Pet CPR & First Aid Certified
Whether Jamie knew it or not, she was born to care for animals.
Whether she realized it or not, Jamie was born to care for animals. From an early age, she felt a deep instinct to rescue, nurture, and advocate for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. That natural calling led her to the Oregon Humane Society, where she immersed herself in a wide range of shelter programs as a dedicated volunteer. It was there that Jamie honed her skills in providing individualized, compassionate care—tending not only to pets’ physical well-being, but also to their emotional needs.
Through her hands-on experience, Jamie discovered a particular passion for working with under-socialized animals and saw firsthand the transformative power of humane education. Being a voice and safe haven for vulnerable pets became her mission.
Her journey continued with years of experience across the pet care industry, including helping build and operate a thriving multi-dog care facility. At its core was Jamie’s unwavering philosophy: animals’ needs come first. The facility reflected that vision—prioritizing safety, enrichment, and a genuine sense of joy for every pet in its care.
Fueled by a shared dream, Jamie and her business partner launched The Wag Staff, a mobile pet care service devoted to providing attentive, tailored care for beloved pets in their own homes and neighborhoods. With more than 20 years of experience and a heart still fully in the work, Jamie isn’t just in the pet care profession—she’s living her purpose every single day.
